Hello Everyone this is Ken Hollis at Airport Marine in Alabaster, Alabama.

Our Airport Marine High School Team Trail will kick off this Saturday on Lake Jordan at Bonner's Ramp, we just wanted to send out a reminder to you all and hope that you will help us get this out to all the student's so that we can make this as big as possible.

I wanted to clarify a few things that we have had some questions about pertaining to the tournament trail so that everyone will be on the same page.

Any high school student from the 7th through the 12th grade can compete in this trail. Also the kids do not have to go to the same school to compete in this trail just as long as they are in the 7th thru the 12th grade, homeschool, public or private school it does not matter.

You can launch wherever you want to and come to Bonner's for the blast off and the weigh in. Tell all of the kids to do not forget their parental permission form that they will have to have the morning of the tournament.

I have gotten some calls asking about the Airport Marine Fishing Team, and what they have to do to be eligible for this extra $ 1,000.00 scholarship.

They do have to have a permanent Airport Marine Logo (No Hats) on their jerseys and like us on all social media groups. If you have already had your jersey's done they can get our logo off the website and have it monogrammed on their jersey's that will be good enough.

You can still register online or at the ramp it looks like we are going to have a big turnout for this first event of this trail. We have very high hopes for this trail and we wish that all of you would help us out in making this a big success for these high school kids.

Just a final rundown for anyone that doesn't understand the scholarship money it goes as follows:

1. First place team will get $ 1,000.00, that is $ 500.00 per student.

2. The boat captain will get $ 500.00 cash if he or she is in a qualified boat 2 years old or newer bought by the first owner from Airport Marine.

3. The school or schools that the two students represent will get a $ 1,000.00 scholarship that will be $ 500.00 per school if the  two kids go to different schools.

4. There will be a scholarship payout on down the line in the form of one spot per six boats that will go to the students and it will be a very large amount.

Also for all of you boat captains out there we are having our Airport Marine Classic Team Trail that will be starting up February 15th at Lake Martin. This trail will be one of the biggest payout trails in the state it could pay as much as $ 35,000.00 to the winner, and have a chance to compete to go to the Bassmaster's Classic in 2015.

We look forward to seeing all of your students at Lake Jordan this weekend to kick off this Tournament Trail that is going to a great help for these kids to further their love of fishing through education.
